Jayme Louise Books (Original Website Design)

Aussie Indie Romance Author Website

New Indie Author Website

Jayme Louise Books is a strategically built and fully mobile-responsive WordPress website.

Jayme Louise Website Homepage

The homepage features the cover of the debut novel (and first in the series) and highlighted excerpt. It’s sparse now, but the intention was that as more books are completed in the series that the cover image would showcase the series and replace the image of the single book.

The website was done in Jayme Louise brand colors of indigo purple and dusky pink. It features a top header with icons that take readers to her social media sites, Amazon profile, and email. The floral accent was added to add extra space to a short homepage and give a romantic and feminine touch.

Menu items include Home, About, Books, Blog, and Contact. A shop feature will be added in the future.

Indie Author Books Pages

The About Page was just a short bio to introduce Jayme with an avatar image since she writes under a pen name, so we’ll skip to the Books page.

The intentions of the Books page is to show all the books she’s written grouped by series. At the time of the web design, only one book had been written and two more had titles, but 6 books total were planned for the Unexpected Love series.

To take up less space, an accordian feature was added to allow the blurb for one book at a time to open. The main color was indigo purple for the accordian design, with the active book title to show in dusky pink. Instead of the usual dot or plus and minus icons, pink and purple heart icons were chosen to represent romance and love.

Unexpected Love series blog

A blog is an important part of any website. It allows authors to provide additional information and updates about themselves and their books without having to add additional main pages or adding it existing pages where it doesn’t belong. Blogs are also great for SEO because they provide additional content that can be indexed by search engines and added to search results.

Indie Author Website Contact Page

For the Contact Page, we wanted to include a Call to Action to “Follow on Social Media!” and include all the different ways that readers could follow or contact Jayme. To start with, we included icons to her social profiles, her Amazon author profile, and email contact. We then included embedded her social media profiles into the page, including Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, and Pinterest to help grow social media presence.
